Smith-Midland hits one out of the ballpark with SlenderWall

Landmark Builders and Architecture firm West and Stem, have chosen SlenderWall precast building panels and its licensed Easi-Set Producer, Smith-Midland to clad the exterior of the new “Slugger” project in Greensboro, NC. The new 9-story, 111,869 square feet office and retail building will peer over the right field line of First National Bank Field, home of the Grasshoppers, Greensboro’s South Atlantic League baseball team. The two facilities will be connected by a new featured ballpark entrance.

Contractor W.M. Jordan Company recently broke ground on a new 24-story tower in Norfolk, Virginia. The River Tower will add 147 luxury residences and more than 95,000 sq. ft. of common space and amenities to the Harbor’s Edge, Hampton Roads’ premier Life Plan Retirement Community.

Ferguson chooses SlenderWall and Smith-Midland for new $82 Million Headquarters

Ferguson Enterprises is building a new 260,000 sq. ft. Headquarters 3 (HQ3) in the City Center at Oyster Point development, Newport News, Virginia. The eight-story building will house Ferguson’s corporate training and development center and various corporate departments. Ferguson Enterprises is the largest plumbing wholesaler in the United States. Based in Virginia for more than 60 years, Ferguson has 14,000 retail locations nationwide.

Smith-Midland participates in innovative DC mixed-use project

JBG Investment Fund IX, L.L.C and Berwyn, PA-based LCOR are co-developing a unique mixed-use project located in NE Washington, DC called Eckington Yards. The four 11-story multi-family buildings will add a mixture of 681 condominium, townhome and rental units, plus 70,000 square feet of retail space to the dynamic Eckington community.

Smith-Midland lands largest SlenderWall® project ever produced

Architects Marchetto Higgins Stieve, Owner Developer Hartz Mountain Industries and General Contractor Katerra have chosen Smith-Midland to manufacture and install their SlenderWall envelope system for the new 800 Harbor Boulevard project at Lincoln Harbor in Weehawken, NJ. The expansive 586 luxury residential waterfront rental apartment building will incorporate over 157,000 square feet of white acid-etch finished SlenderWall panels. This project marks the largest deployment of SlenderWall panels in the product’s 27 year history. Smith-Midland has previously worked with Marchetto Higgins Stieve on the Port Imperial, NJ Nine on the Hudson multi-family project which opened in mid-2018.

The project will include 394,000 square feet of residential space, over 17,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and nine levels of parking. Contractor Hensel Phelps and architectural firm Gensler are teaming up to bring Baltimore, Maryland, its newest hotel. The Marriott Residence Inn Baltimore at Johns Hopkins Medical Campus will be a 15-story, 215,000-SF extended stay Marriott hotel. Located adjacent to the medical campus, its 194 rooms will help to alleviate the accommodation needs for families accompanying patients at the prestigious facility. In addition, the hotel will include retail space, a rooftop restaurant and bar, and a 6,000-SF outdoor terrace.
